NordHaus wants you to love the results AND the process when you work with us. Our relationship with our clients is incredibly important, and our entire process is built around clear, consistent communication. Here’s what to expect:
Step 1: Phone consultation- In this first conversation you’re invited to tell us about your project dreams, and we will share rough budget numbers with you based on our experience. From there, if your project and our expertise seem like a good fit, we schedule an in-person visit.
Step 2: In-home visit- You’ll feel the NordHaus difference from the start – because we think of this as a listening session. Yes, we’re there to see your space and to get to know you. But we’re equally interested in hearing about how you dream of using your home in the future, getting details about your budget goals, and more
Step 3: Mild to wild- NordHaus provides rough budget numbers for all aspects of the project, ranging from “mild to wild.” We assign value to these options which lets you see the costs if you go for your dream remodel, or choose to be more budget-conscious on some items. We will ask you to respond to the numbers when you’re ready. Our clients tell us this is one of the most helpful parts of the process!
Step 4: Design process- NordHaus provides in-house design work through MB4 Studio. Because design is integrated into our overall contracting process, you can trust that our ideas can actually be executed in your home, and within your budget. We can also work with a designer of your choice to create layout and design options.
Step 5: Official bid- Once you’ve made your choices around budget, design, and finishes, we create a project plan that will serve as a guide for producing an official bid. At this stage, we bring our trusted subcontractors to your home and ask them to provide us with precise numbers based on your plan. You will be able to take our final bid to your lender if you are pursuing financing.
Step 6: Signing a contract- Once we’ve agreed on the detailed budget and project plan, you will sign a contract with NordHaus to reserve your place in our project calendar!
Step 7: Construction- One thing that sets NordHaus apart from other contractors is our commitment to ongoing communication during the remodel process. We pride ourselves both on our craftsmanship and in our ability to take great care of your needs and your home while working with you! Step 8: Final Walk-Through- The project isn’t considered complete until we’ve done a final walk-through to ensure we’ve met your expectations and taken care of any last details. This is our favorite part – seeing the “after” through our clients’ eyes and hearing them talk about how they’ll use their space for years to come!
